Profile

I am an enthuastic Interior Architectural Designer with First Class Degree Honours at Southampton Solent University, with proven experience in interior design, interior architect, space planning, furniture design and materials. I have received an award from The SBID for my final year project in category of sustainable innovation and interior design and have been awarded as a NAS Young Designer of the Year 2017. Specialising in Sketchup and interior architectural design, now seeking to contribute my experience, skills and expertise to the Design Industry.

Sustainable Innovation and Interior Design

My biggest achievement was receiving an award form The SBID for my Final Year Project – Durdle Door Resort. My project was selected a winner out of 62 universities across England. In November 2016 I went to House of Lords in London to receive my award which also came with one year mentorship program.

Experience

Freelancing | 2017 April - present

Samantha James Design

I am currently working as freelance 3D Visualizer for Samantha James Design which is based in Romsey and focusing on residential interior design. My job is to create 3D visuals for designs which are fully created by Samantha James Design Company. I am using Sketchup to create furniture and fixtures that are given to me. Rendering the rooms using V-Ray and enhancing images with Adobe Photoshop. Freelancing only takes a few hours of my spare time and it wouldn’t get in a way of my full time job.

Interior Design Internship | 2017 August – 2017 December

Anima and Amare

My recent internship is with Anima and Amare Company. They are based in Southampton and working on residential and commercial projects. I am learning to use Mac by using Auto CAD and Photoshop. My role is to draw up CAD plans (floor plans and elevations). I import them to Photoshop and add all the fixtures, furniture, materials and lighting. The role is teaching me to work effectively and efficiency and it requires a strong attention to details.

Interior Designer | 2013 September -2016 July

Southampton Solent University

I undertaken a variety of projects spanning from small residential apartments to large commercial projects such as my Final Year Project – Durdle Door Resort. I had the opportunity to design a sustainable café, ergonomic kitchen design, shipping container home, office fit out and more. I learn how to use programs such as AutoCAD, Sketchup, Vectorworks and Photoshop. I developed good communication skills by presenting my projects and learned time management by working to tight deadlines. It involved a lot of self-motivation, independent research, creativity, initiative and patience to reach the final results.
